About us
We began in 2018 by setting up The Free Kitchen where we served free hot meals to passers-by outside Woolwich Arsenal DLR Station from a pop- up stall.
This service began to help rough sleepers, the under-privileged, the vulnerable, the lonely, those suffering from mental health issues and keyworkers.
Along with the free meals we share information about Sikhi and our identity. All in all, spreading positivity, acceptance and mutual respect within the local community.
In March 2020, when Covid- 19 hit, we joined forces with South London Sikh Youth and Gurdwara Sahib Woolwich and launched The Coronavirus Sikh Support initiative. Over the course of the pandemic, volunteers prepared and delivered over 2000 hot meals a week to NHS Staff in 5 London hospitals and vulnerable individuals isolating at home, from Dartford to Catford.
From there onwards, as the needs from the local community and opportunities for Seva present themselves to us, we try our best to fulfil them. We are now running and are involved in various projects including Sikh/Gurmat classes, Sikhi Camps, Kirtan Smagams, School Talks, Youth Welfare support etc.
We are grateful and blessed for your support in helping us to continue serving our community.
