Community support
Making a difference together
The Guru Nanak Seva Team always try their best to accept Seva presented to them, to offer support to the local community.
Since starting the Free Kitchen in 2018 we have been blessed with opportunity to support other organisations and individuals in South London.
We were able to provide food supplies to Lewisham Food Bank in order to replenish their stores after their premises suffered a flood. We have assisted WSUP in providing meals to rough sleepers, from our stall, when they temporarily did not have use of their regular premises, as well as providing hot meals to school children and their families as part of Royal Greenwich Borough winter holiday meals.
We also provide emergency hot meals to clients of organisations such as Royal Borough of Greenwich social services, NHS voluntary services and MIND Greenwich. We have been blessed with the seva of supporting the local Sikh community with issues such as bullying, harassment, work exploitation, accommodation, and domestic violence.
